You’re doing an inspection to buy a home and you find things that need to be fixed, you ask the seller to fix them and the seller says let’s just give you a credit so you can do them yourself after closing. the seller is always going to want to give you a credit towards you doing those repairs after closing so they don’t have to deal with it. You’d better be sure the repair can be done for the price that’s been estimated, if you’re not sure, you may want to push back and say nope, I’m not willing to risk having this repair cost a lot more than the bid. I need to it done prior to closing.
